Why People Choose Counselling
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or emotionally exhausting. Counselling offers a safe and supportive space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgement.
People choose counselling for many different reasons. Some may be facing:

Others may simply want greater self-understanding, emotional balance, or support during challenging times
Counselling can help you to:
- Feel more in control and supported
- Understand your thoughts and emotions more clearly
- Develop healthier coping strategies
- Improve confidence and self-esteem
- Strengthen relationships and communication
- Manage stress, anxiety, and emotional pressures
- Work through past experiences or difficult situations
You do not have to face difficulties alone. Seeking support is a positive step towards emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and positive change.
Every person’s journey is unique, and counselling provides the opportunity to explore your experiences at your own pace in a confidential and caring environment.
“It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried”
Carl Rogers
Integrative Counselling
As an integrative counsellor, I recognise that every person is unique. Rather than following a single counselling method, I use different therapeutic approaches to support your individual needs, experiences, and goals.
This flexible way of working allows therapy to be adapted as your needs change over time.
These approaches may include:
- Person-Centred Therapy – focuses on providing a supportive, non-judgemental space where you feel heard and understood.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – helps identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.
- Psychodynamic Therapy – explores how past experiences and relationships may affect current emotions and patterns.
- Mindfulness-Based Approaches – encourages awareness of thoughts and feelings in the present moment to support emotional wellbeing.
